Mr. Thayer Tutt is Vice Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of El Pomar Foundation and serves as El Pomar's trustee in the Southwest Region. He graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Geological and Geophysical Sciences and earned his master’s degree from Duke University Fuqua School of Business.
Mr. Tutt’s awards and recognition include the Business Citizen of the Year Award from the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce (2009), the Ellis Island Medal of Honor (2013), the Lewis Perry Award from the Fountain Valley School recognizing him for his alumni leadership (2014), the Positive Impact Award for Extraordinary Collaboration & Leadership in Creating a Better Region from the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute (2015), and recognition as a member of the Schlessman Executive Faculty in Residence at Colorado College (2019).
Mr. Tutt is involved with several nonprofit organizations including the Investment Committee for the United States Olympic Endowment, Pikes Peak Community Foundation, and the Geological Society of America, Treasurer for the National Recreation Foundation, board member for Broadmoor World Arena, Care and Share Foundation, Colorado College, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Foundation, Colorado Springs Philharmonic Foundation, and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Endowment.
Other Boards include: President/CEO of The Garden City Company, UMB Bank of Colorado, Southern Colorado Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation, and United States Olympic and Paralympic Museum.
Mr. Tutt is a Professional Member of The Financial Analysts Federation.
He and his wife Melani have two sons.
